Broiler/Fryer:  Daily National Broiler Market at-a-Glance

Whole broiler/fryer prices are trending steady to mostly weak for
all sizes. Offerings of all sizes are readily available and competitively 
priced to help move product. Retail and food service demand is light to 
moderate for the beginning of the week. Floor stocks are sufficient. Market 
activity is light to moderate. In the parts structure, the market tone is 
trending steady to instances firm on breast cuts, at least steady on tenders. 
Dark meat items are steady at best, while wings range steady to weak with 
smaller sizes in the best position. Offerings of tenders are light to moderate. 
Boneless skinless breast are clearing satisfactorily with heavier sizes in the 
better balance. Wings are mixed with smaller sizes having the strongest movement. 
Dark meat items are moderate to heavy.  Market activity is slow to moderate. 
In production areas, live supplies are moderate. Weights are mixed, but noted 
as mostly desirable.

The National Composite Weighted Average for 02/21/20 is 78.39 compared to
81.62 a week earlier, and 89.16 a year ago.
